wiring instructions are useless for those who want to know, here is what I figured out.

From gauge side:

Black = ground

Red = 12v

Yellow = turns on the back light

Green = goes to the sensor black wire

Sensor side:

Black = goes to green on gauge

Grey = Ground

White = one goes to ground and one to switched 12v for the internal heater, doesn't matter which one.
